Layered history
Venetian, French, and British influences shaped Kerkyra into one of Greece’s most distinctive Old Towns, a vibrant city still lived in today.

Green and lush
Unlike the drier Aegean islands, Corfu stays green well into summer, with olive groves, cypress trees, and wildflowers covering much of the landscape.

Beaches for every mood
With more than 100 beaches and swimming spots, from Glyfada’s golden sands to Messonghi’s shallow bays, finding your perfect beach in Corfu is easy.

Family-friendly infrastructure
Most resorts offer calm, shallow waters, watersports, and easy access to Aqualand, one of Europe’s largest waterparks.

Exceptional food
Corfiot cuisine stands apart from mainland Greece, blending Venetian and French influences, while the island’s famous kumquat is unique in Europe.

Easy to explore
At just 60 km long, Corfu offers plenty of variety while remaining compact enough to cross in around an hour by car.

Travelodeal Travel Tips

The island divides naturally into distinct zones, and each delivers a noticeably different type of stay.
Corfu Town (Kerkyra): The island’s capital is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and earns every bit of that status. The Venetian Old Fortress, the French-built Liston arcade, and the Museum of Asian Art are all within easy walking distance — a half-day here is time well spent on any holidays in Corfu.
Paleokastritsa: On the west coast, roughly 24 km from the capital, this is the island’s most photographed spot — multiple turquoise bays, a 13th-century Byzantine monastery on the headland, and some of the clearest snorkelling water on the island. A great choice for couples and families who want scenery alongside their beach days.
Sidari (north coast): Around 36 km from the airport, Sidari is lively, shallow-beached, and well set up for families. The Canal d’Amour — a narrow sea channel cut through sandstone cliffs — is right on the edge of the resort and draws couples too. It consistently offers some of the best value among cheap Corfu holidays on the island without compromising on beach quality.
Kassiopi (northeast coast): A working harbour village with the ruins of a Byzantine castle above the waterfront, about 35 km from Corfu Town. British visitors have been coming here for decades; it stays noticeably calmer than Sidari and holds its traditional character well.
Kavos (south): The island’s main nightlife hub, attracting a younger crowd. It delivers in full — though it’s a very different experience from the rest of the island.

Between its UNESCO sites, an active coastline, and over 200km of Corfu walking trails, there’s plenty to love beyond the sun lounger.
Corfu Old Town: The Venetian Old Fortress, New Fortress, Palace of St Michael and St George (built during British rule in the early 19th century), and the Liston promenade all sit close together — a morning on foot covers most of it.
Achilleion Palace: Built in 1890 for Empress Elisabeth of Austria, this elegant neoclassical palace sits just outside Corfu Town at Gastouri village, with famous statues of Achilles and sweeping sea-view gardens. Worth combining with a stop at Kanoni viewpoint.
Corfu Trail & Mount Pantokrator: The Corfu Trail stretches more than 200 km from the island’s southern tip to the north, passing through olive groves, wetlands, and hill villages. The summit trail up Mount Pantokrator (906 m) from Old Perithia takes around 90 minutes and ends at a monastery with foundations dating back to 1347.
Watersports & boat trips: Most resorts offer jet-skiing, paddleboarding, kayaking, and banana boats right off the beach. Glass-bottom boat trips run from Paleokastritsa, and day trips to Paxos and Antipaxos — about an hour south — are popular right through the season. Guests consistently tell us these day trips are among the highlights of their stay.
Aqualand waterpark: One of the largest waterparks in Europe, with 51 water slides, a pirate ship play area, a lazy river, and a dedicated zone for younger children. Most north-coast hotels can arrange transfers.
